Oroantral Fistula

Abstract
Oroantral fistula is a persistent opening between the maxillary sinus and oral cavity through the fistulous tract.
It is an occasional complication of dental extraction.
The majority of small fistulas(less than 5 mm) either heal spontaneously or can be surgically closed with a buccal mucoperiosteal flap with excellent results.
Oroantral fistulas larger than 0.5 cm rarely heal spontaneously, can be closed with a large buccal or palatal flap in conjunction with a bone graft.
Recently the authors experienced one case of oroantral fistula which treated through a gingivobuccal flap with a bone graft in conjunction with a Caldwell-Luc¢¥s operation.
